FWP participates in research partnerships that genuinely improve understanding of the impact of key Population, Health and Environmental (PHE) challenges facing Maasai people.
FWP plays a key role in co-designing the research focus and methodology and manages community liaison, logistics, sourcing of interviewees and translation arrangements to support researchers. Over the last five years, we have partnered with Stanford University students to investigate the impacts of climate-driven migration on Maasai health and wellbeing, with the following research published in the International Journal of Public Health:
- "Climate-driven migration: an exploratory case study of Maasai health perceptions and help-seeking behaviors." and
- "Ethnic identity, resilience, and well-being: a study of female Maasai migrants".
