In 2011, we have provided start-up funding for 16 homeless Maasai warriors in Arusha to start businesses so they can support large families in their home villages. These businesses have supplemented their existing low incomes as night watchmen and are helping the warriors provide their families with adequate food and shelter.

While working with these warriors on their businesses, we found that there is important work to do to boost their life skills, education and financial literacy of Maasai in town.  Our work Supporting Urban Migrants aims to provide this support.
